[Abstract of the lecture]
In reality, the circular economy is perceived differently by different people and organizations. In the field of waste management, the 3Rs have made progress, but the effects of these efforts have become saturated, and we are at the stage of entering the next era, but the direction is still unclear. In this lecture, I will give an overview of the situation and introduce the model research of the National Institute for Environmental Studies in the field of waste management to prepare for the population onus (a declining ratio of workers to total population.). In the end, I would like to have a discussion with the participants about the direction to go beyond the fragmentation in the field of material cycle in the future.
