15th Members’ Meeting “The Sharing Economy and Environmental Management”

2020年3月24日

[Purpose of Meeting]

The social system of the sharing economy is accelerating due to the shift in values from ownership to sharing. In particular, the expansion of the IoT and the presence of platformers are supporting the sharing economy. These are also the driving forces behind the realization of the circular economy. In the sharing economy, certification systems have been put in place to ensure the safe penetration of sharing services.

During the session, Mr. Ninomiya of the Sharing Economy Association (https://sharing-economy.jp/en/), which certifies third parties in accordance with self-regulation (co-regulation) based on the guidelines published by the government, will give a lecture on the current status of discussions on certification systems and international standardization ISO. Last year, many Japanese companies expressed support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) of the Financial Stability Board (FSB). The investment movement is also changing. Mr. Toshihiko Goto, who was responsible for the translation of the TCFD report at the Japan Forum on Sustainability (https://www.sustainability-fj.org/), will give a talk on the relationship between environmental management and the business activities of the company. In the second half of the session, we will discuss environmental aspects of the sharing and circular economies and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) investment from the perspective of the sharing and circular economies.
